Forecast: Clearing Skies By Sunrise; Turning Cooler

    A strong cold front will sweep through the area overnight with winds shifting to the northwest.   The front will exit the southwest coast of Florida by sunrise with much cooler and drier air working into the Tampa Bay area.  The coldest night will be Thursday into Friday morning with temperatures dropping into the mid 30's on the Nature Coast and low 40's elsewhere.  Patchy frost will be possible for Citrus, Hernando, and Pasco counties.  A freeze watch is in effect for Levy County where temps will likely drop below freezing.

Temps will start to moderate a bit this weekend with highs rebounding into the low 70's and low temps in the low 50's.  We will see mainly sunny skies with just intermittent mid and high level clouds passing through.
