St. Petersburg, Florida -- Mayor Bill Foster and City Council honored three athletes who medalled in the London 2012 Paralympic Games during Thursday's City Council meeting.

Jennifer French and JP Creignou, the sailing duo who earned silver medals in the two-person keelboat (SKUD-18) competition, and Lt. Brad Snyder, who earned gold and silver medals in the Men's 100m, 400m, and 50m freestyle events were recognized.

Snyder was a standout swimmer at Northeast High School and swim captain at the U.S. Naval Academy. French, chairperson of the city's Committee to Advocate for Persons with Impairments, and Creignou, an engineer, are both members of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club.

French has been featured on 10 News several times over the past decade, including as far back as 2003 as well as in 2006, when she and her teammates were trying to qualify for the 2008 Games.
