Brandon, FL-- A wounded warrior is finding it easier to get around his Brandon home today thanks to the generosity of the community.

Samuel Bell is a former Marine Corporal who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He made it through the war unhurt, but this past March, was left a paraplegic after a hit-and-run accident on his motorcycle.

Today, the Abilities Foundation and the Home Depot Foundation made modifications to his home by installing a wheelchair ramp and walkway around the house to make easier for him to get outside.

"It's a blessing I never expected," said Bell. "Not only does it change my situation, it changes me. It shows how much more heart there is out there still, and how there really are good people left."

Bell spent three months in a coma after his accident, and another four months in the hospital.

Now he's back teaching martial arts, and plans to go back to college.
