Riverview, Florida  -  Tampa  Bay Watch has been building oyster reefs and planting seagrass along Tampa Bay for many years. Volunteers from around the community are a big part of making these projects become a reality.

One of those volunteers is Adam Hange. Adam does whatever is asked of him. Since 2005, he has used over 70 days of his vacation time to make Tampa Bay a better place to live.

Last week, Adam and volunteers from Mosaic were out at the Williams Park boat ramp, shoveling over 30 tons of fossilized oyster shells into mesh bags. The bags are then transported to Shoals Nature Preserve, where Tampa Bay Watch is creating a 2,000-foot oyster reef. Live oysters will latch on to the reef and create their own habitat.

Adam says that he wants to preserve the bay for future generations.
