Hello, Joe Bucs Fan!
This one Sunday, doesn't look winnable... Okay, the Bucs are playing well, even though they lost to the Falcons (but remember, by just one point).
But they are running into a Mile High buzzsaw in the Denver Broncos, winners of 6 in a row, on the verge of a division title, and a quarterback who is back to being Peyton Manning.
How do they stop him? Better question, how do they cool him off?
I honestly don't know if they can.
The Bucs will be starting two rookies in the patched-up secondary: Mark Barron and Leonard Johnson. They'll also have a 4th year man in EJ Biggers and of course, Ronde Barber. Manning looks like he's back to his Colts' days, and more importantly, his Broncos teammates look like they've caught up to him. They understand how he operates.
Pressure is necessary, just like any game, and the Bucs haven't really been getting that. When Manning has time, look out and remember: this is the worst pass defense in football.
I say offense has to win this one... long drives, ball control, keep the football out of Manning's hands. A shootout, maybe? It might be the only way to win this one.
I'm Dave Wirth, and I'll see you at the game.
