Clerk pushes armed suspect out of store, suspect runs

Valrico, FL-- It was shortly after 7 a.m. on the morning of Thanksgiving when officials say a clerk won a battle with a suspect attempting to rob his store. 

The suspect, armed with a long barreled revolver, reportedly entered the Mobil Mart off of Highway 60 East in Valrico and demanded money from the store clerk.  

Instead of handing over the money, reports say the clerk grabbed the barrel of the revolver, wrestled with the suspect, and then pushed him out of the store.  

The suspect ran away without receiving any money, but officials still request the public's assistance in locating him. 

They have provided the following description of the suspect: 

  • Black male
  • 25-26 years
  • 5'9"-5'10"
  • 130-135 lbs.
  • Thin Build
  • Light complexion
  • Last seen wearing dark sunglasses, black hooded sweatshirt, blue denim shorts, white socks and black slip on sandals

Anyone with any information reference the suspect is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 247-8200.
