Bartow, FL -- Bartow police have arrested a cellular store employee for allegedly stealing personal pictures from phones.
On October 8, a woman came to investigators saying that two workers at the store, located at 110 E. Van Fleet Dr. in Bartow, had stolen personal pictures from her phone during a purchase and subsequent data transfer.
Police say the victim traveled to the store to obtain a new phone, and that during the purchase, sales associate Joshua Stuart offered to transfer the data from her old phone to her new one. During the data transfer, detectives say Stuart illegally obtained personal pictures from the woman's phone, keeping a copy for himself.
Later on, police say Stuart then shared the data with another associate, 26-year-old Gregory Lampert of Brandon.
In the days that followed, police say Stuart and Lampert showed the images to another customer, who recognized the woman.
That customer then reportedly contacted the victim, alerting her to the fact that store workers had and were sharing personal images of her.
On Wednesday, investigators executed a search warrant on the store.
Police say as a result of the search, several images of the alleged victim were recovered from Lampert's phone and personal computer.
Police also found personal photos of a second woman, who remains unidentified.
Lampert was arrested at the scene. Stuart, 24, from Riverview, was not at the store, but detectives say they will be requesting a warrant for his arrest.
Police say both will be charged with dealing in stolen property -- a second degree felony -- and other charges related to the case.
