Thieves make off with nearly $80K in boat motors from Family Boating Center in Tampa

Tampa, Florida -- Deputies are searching for a suspect, or suspects, involved in the theft of four boat motors from a boating center on the night of Oct. 21.

The Hillsborough Sheriff's Office says sometime between 9:30 Sunday night and 12:30 Monday morning, the thief -- or thieves -- cut the chain link fence surrounding the Family Boating Center in the 7800 block of Anderson Road. They then removed two F300 and two F250 Yamaha outboard motors attached to boats. 

The total value of the motors is estimated at just over $79,400. 

Anyone with any information reference the suspect(s) is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 247-8200 or anyone with any information regarding the identity and whereabouts of this suspect(s) and who wants to be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477), report anonymously online at or text "CSTB plus your tip" to C-R-I-M-E-S (274637).
