Highlands County, Florida -- The family of a 19-year-old woman from Highlands County is asking for the public's help in finding their granddaughter and niece who disappeared from Miami in June.
Natanalie Marie Perez is from Highlands County but left for Miami earlier this year. Her family believes Natanalie may have becoming the victim of human trafficking by coercion and deception brought about by a close friend.
Relatives and friends plan to hold a countdown to Natanalie's birthday on Oct. 18 along U.S. 27. They hope to bring awareness to the issue of human trafficking and possibly even help locate the teen.
