Hillsborough County, Florida-- The Sheriff's office will continue their ongoing efforts to crack down on illegal pill mills and prevent prescription drug abuse by taking part in the Operation Medicine Cabinet Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.
On Saturday September 29 at 10 a.m., the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, along with the Temple Terrace Police Department , the Tampa Police Department , the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Hillsborough County Anti-Drug Alliance, will begin collecting unused or expired prescription medications from citizens to prevent potentially dangerous drugs from getting into the wrong hands, states a recent release.
Citizens will be able to drop off any prescription medications they no longer use, anonymously with no questions asked at several different locations on that Saturday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
The Hillsborough County Anti-Drug Alliance supports this take back initiative and will provide volunteers and educational materials at the following collection sites.
