St. Petersburg, Florida -- A sports talk radio host has been arrested for disorderly intoxication.

An arrest report shows 45-year-old Ian Beckles was arrested Thursday night near Jannus Live. Police were directing traffic as a large crowd was leaving the concert venue.

Beckles was among the crowd and allegedly tried to cross the street against the pedestrian light.  Officers called him back to the sidewalk for his safety.

The arrest report describes Beckles as being highly intoxicated, slurring his speech, swaying and having a strong smell of alcohol on his breath.

After an officer spoke warned him about illegally crossing the street, Beckles reportedly slapped him on the back and yelled, "OK, tough guy!" and again walked back into the street.

Another officerled him back to the sidewalk until the traffic light turned green. But instead of crossing, Beckles allegedly walked towards an officer on a mounted patrol horse. Several officers yelled at him to not touch the horse, but Beckles instead grabbed the animal by the mane.

At this point, police took him into custody and placed him under arrest.

Beckles currently co-hosts "The Ron and Ian Show" with Ron Diaz on 620 WDAE.  Before that, he played nine seasons in the NFL, mostly with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
