Dunnellon, Florida -- A mother and her son are in critical condition Wednesday after troopers say their car was T-boned by a truck Tuesday afternoon.

Troopers say around 4:15 Tuesday afternoon, Alice Brown was heading west and Dann Juse was heading east on East Withlacoochee Trail as they both approached East Scott Lane.

For unknown reasons, Brown failed to negotiate the left turn onto East Scott Lane and traveled into the path of Juse's truck.  Juse swerved to avoid hitting Brown but ended up hitting the right passenger side of Brown's car. Brown's car hit a wire fence before both vehicle came to a rest in the grassy median.

Brown, 40, and her son, 15-year-old James, are both in critical condition at Shands Regional.  Juse, 38 and his wife, 37-year-old Meagan Juse, received minor injuries and were treated at Monroe Regional Hospital.

No charges have yet been filed in the accident.
