Apollo Beach, Florida-- 10 News told you about the grand opening of the Apollo Beach Skate Park set for tomorrow, but the Hillsborough County Commissioners have added an exciting new twist to the event.

This past Thursday, the Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously to approve naming the ramp area of the park in honor of Diego Duran, the 13 year old boy who has hit by an errant bullet on New Year's Day 2011.

The Hillsborough County Commissioners and the Duran family will now cut the ribbon during a ceremony that will symbolize Hillsborough County's commitment to always have safe areas for children to play outside, a release about the event explains.

Head to 664 Golf and Sea Blvd. in Apollo Beach to see just what this new, safe place for children to play has to offer

The event kicks off at 10 a.m.
