Winter Haven, Florida -- Legoland Florida will add a Star Wars-themed expansion before the end of the year.
The theme park announced the 1.5 million LEGO brick addition Thursday morning in an event complete with a walking, light saber-waving LEGO Darth Vader.

The Star Wars Miniland area will feature seven famous scenes from the Star Wars movies and Clone Wars TV series.
Re-created moments include the battle with giant walkers on the ice planet Hoth, the Ewok resistance on the Endor moon, and Luke Skywalker's home planet Tatooine.
The movie moments are made out of one-and-a-half million LEGO bricks, with more than 2,000 individual models. There are little details, too; you can spot a teeny Yoda in one of the ships.
A similar Star Wars Miniland is part of Legoland California. The Star Wars universe matches Legoland's target audience of 2- to 12-year old kids.
Like the Star Wars Miniland area in California, Florida will have a nearly full-size LEGO representation of Darth Maul ready for you to pose alongside.
Legoland Florida says the Star Wars expansion in Winter Haven should open in November.
There may be another expansion coming, too.
Theme park watching websites say the park has filed for permits with the Southwest Florida Water Management District to build a whole new themed land with rides and shops.
According to one website, the area's called Pirate Shores, and it'll have two new attractions and two water playgrounds.
At the presentation unveiling the Star Wars area Thursday, park general manager Adrian Jones dismissed that pirate project as a rumor.
We all want to know how the park is doing -- are people coming? Is it succeeding, despite not being in Orlando? The signs seem to point to "yes."
The park has never released attendance figures, but Jones said they've had "phenomenal success," with crowds exceeding their expectations.
They've already re-opened the water park next door, and they'll have at least one expansion added to the main park before its second birthday in October 2013.
