3 Chihuahuas and cat rescued from blazing St. Petersburg home

St. Petersburg, Florida-- St. Pete Fire had to quickly help several animals while putting out a house fire on 39th Avenue North just before 11:30 this morning.

While looking for possible victims in the home, firefighters found three Chihuahua's and a cat inside, all suffering from severe smoke inhalation, reports say.

Firefighters were able to treat all four animals with special oxygen pet masks and get them in stable condition. The owner reportedly transported them to a local veterinarian hospital once he arrived home.

Preliminary estimates indicate the house suffered about $75,000 worth of damage.
