TAMPA, Florida -- Armed with a bullhorn and backed by hundreds of raised voices, the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) march through downtown Tampa is loud and boisterous.

"Stand up! Fight back! Stand up! Fight back!" they chant.

Teachers, postal workers, stevedores, and more, they are here to say no to "Romney's America."

"If we see a Romney presidency, what we see in Florida now, with our governor, will go nationwide," said protester Jutta Tolbert.

The demonstrators say 2012 marks what could be the last big fight for the middle class, saying the one percent just doesn't get it and doesn't care. "The one percent own the corporations, and they aren't creating any jobs," said laborer Mike St. Hilaire.

His wife, Beverly, added, "Where are the jobs? They got their tax breaks, but no jobs are being created."

As the march snaked through the city's center, it stopped sporadically to depict scenes of what they believe Romney's America will look like -- a caricature of Mitt Romney dodging the tax man and then doling out what organizers call "Romney dollars," little dollar bills that illustrate the difference between minimum wage and a living wage, something many of these marchers fear is in jeopardy.

Protester Audrey Bear said, "When we see all of the tax breaks and policies that clearly benefit the more wealthy people in our country, the middle class feels kind of jipped."
