St. Petersburg, Florida-- St. Petersburg Police, along with homicide detectives and forensic personnel, are currently investigating the discovery of what appears to be skeletonized, human remains.
A fisherman reportedly found the skeleton hidden in some mangrove bushes near Big Bayou at approximately 3 this afternoon, while casting for bait fish.
Due to the condition of the body, police say they do not anticipate being able to determine identity, age, sex or possible cause of death until an autopsy has been concluded and forensic evidence analyzed.
Medical Examiner's Office investigators are responding.
