Wesley Chapel, Florida -- A man faces lewd and lascivious battery charges after police learned he had sex with a 14-year-old girl he met online.
The Pasco County Sheriff's Office says special agents with Homeland Security made contact with the 14-year-old girl after they received a tip about her possible sexual encounter with someone she met online.
During an interview with agents, she told them she met the man on the social media website, myyearbook.com under the name "Checko". She went on to say he solicited her for sex online and on April 7 he drove from his Tampa home to Wesley Chapel where they had sex in his car outside her community's clubhouse.
The sheriff's office says the girl picked Robert Noriega, II as the man out of a photo lineup. Detectives say Noriega admitted to traveling to have sex with her on three separate occasions in April and May 2012 and that he knew she was only 14.
Noriega has been charged with Lewd and Lascivious Battery and Traveling to Meet a Minor for Unlawful Sex.
