Spring Hill, Florida-- Hernando County Sheriff's deputies continue the investigation of the animal cruelty case early Tuesday morning that resulted in the death of a cat.
Reports say a resident in the area of the Seadragon Bluff saw what appeared to be four men intentionally hurting the cat, one of which stabbed the cat.
Hernando County Animal Services received additional information on the severity of the cat's injuries yesterday, and officials say the case is now classified as Felony Animal Abuse.
Officials encourage anyone with information that could lead to the identity or location of the suspects involved in this crime to call Hernando County Crime Stoppers at 1-866-990-TIPS (8477), or submit your tip on their website.
According to officials, those with info can remain anonymous, and become eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 cash.
An anonymous citizen offers a reward also, in addition to the Crime Stoppers reward.
You must call Crime Stoppers in order to be eligible for both rewards.
