PALM HARBOR, Florida -- A 2-year-old boy who nearly drowned is in stable condition at a local hospital after Pinellas County deputies managed to revive him.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says two deputies were at a Palm Harbor apartment complex on a separate matter when they found out about the child. They discovered the boy lying near the shallow end of the pool.
PCSO says bystanders tried to give him CPR, but were not successful. The deputies turned the boy on his side and delivered several life-saving thrusts to his back, causing him to cough up what he was apparently choking on and to start breathing again.
