St. Petersburg, FL -- The 10 News Kid Reporter at the Rays game Sunday was Michelle Spring of Thonotosassa.
Michelle is a 15-year-old sophomore at Brooks-DeBartolo High School in Tampa, and a Principal's Honor Roll student. She's an avid Rays fan, a supporter of David Price's Bowl for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, and she participated in the Joe Maddon in-house video shoot last summer.
She has her sights set on a reporting/marketing career.
Michelle and her mom, Susan Spring, entered the Kid Reporter contest on the 10 News Facebook page.
Michelle asked Rays pitcher Matt Moore what his best game was, and Matt quickly answered, "Last year, in the playoffs, the first game against the Rangers, which we won. The situation of the game, with my limited time in the major leagues, made that my biggest game."
Michelle asked Rays infielder Sean Rodriguez if he had any nicknames. Sean responded, "The guys abbreviate my name a lot, they call me 'Roddy.' 'Chi Chi' is one I go by alot. Mike Scioscia of the Angels gave me that one."
The next 10 News Kid Reporter day with the Rays is Sunday, Sep. 9 at 1:40 p.m. against the Texas Rangers. You can enter on the 10 News Facebook page.
