Tampa, FL-- Free agent cornerback Leonard Johnson has been impressing the Bucs' coaches during the first week of training camp.

Johnson played his college football at Iowa State, and his prep football at Largo High School, where he was a quarterback.

He's getting an opportunity for more reps, because of the injury to E.J. Biggers.  So, Anthony Gaitor has moved to first team nickel back, with Johnson right behind him.  And he's making the coaches notice.

"Even if it's camp, it's always been a dream of mine to be an NFL player,"  Johnson told 10 News after practice on Thursday.  "Now it's a reality.  It hasn't really hit me yet, I'm still taking it one day at a time.  The biggest thing is carrying myself like a professional, on and off the field."

The Bucs will practice again Friday morning at 8:45am.  The practice is open to the public.

Saturday, the Bucs will stage their popular night practice at Raymond James Stadium, beginning at 6:30pm.
