Almost 2 pounds of pot seized in Spring Hill residential drug bust

Spring Hill, Florida-- This past Saturday, the Vice and Narcotics Unit reportedly seized 1.75 pounds of marijuana, 305.6 grams of Methamphetamine, and a loaded Glock 17 - 9mm semi-automatic pistol, among other things, from a home in Spring Hill. 

Initially, the Department of Children and Families (DCF) was at the home, located at 179 Arkays Ave., when they came to the conclusion that a possible narcotics operation was underway.

Deputies noted several items of paraphernalia in plain view, and contacted the Vice and Narcotics Unit to assist.

Reports say deputies contacted the occupant of the bedroom where many of the items were located, 22-year-old Raymond Escobar, but he refused to come home. 

The other occupants of the residence, 28-year old Thomas Foskey and 23-year-old Roxann Potts, consented to a search of the common areas of the house, where deputies say they found several more items of drug paraphernalia.

They obtained a search warrant for the entire residence, and seized the following:

  • 305.6 Grams of Methamphetamine
  • 796.1 Grams (1.75 pounds) of of Marijuana
  • Glock 17 - 9mm semi-automatic pistol (loaded w/18 rounds)
  • 7 rounds of 12-gauge ammunition
  • $750. US currency
  • Numerous items of Drug Paraphernalia (pipes, bongs, scales, baggies, etc.) 

Foskey and Potts were arrested on scene and transported to the Hernando County Detention Center.

Officials report they have been charged as follows:

Thomas Foskey: 

  • Possession of Marijuana over 20 grams
  • Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon 
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 
  • Criminal Mischief (damaged back window of cruiser on the way to jail) 
  • Total Bond - $11,000

Roxann Potts:

  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Total Bond - $5,000

22-year old Raymond Escobar is still at large, and a warrant does exist for his arrest for the following charges:

  • Trafficking in Methamphetamine over 200 Grams 
  • Possession of Marijuana w/Intent to Distribute 
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 
  • Total Bond - $110,500
