TARPON SPRINGS, Florida -- A New Port Richey man is under arrest after police say he drove under the influence, crashed into a light pole, and killed one of his passengers back in 2011.
31-year-old Garrett Bruce had a .103 blood alcohol level at the time of the crash, according to the Tarpon Springs Police Department. They say he was driving over 100 mph on Meres Blvd. near Woodmont Drive when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the pole.
Patrick Vosbien was sitting in the back of the car and was ejected upon impact, police say. He died at the hospital three days later.
Bruce was arrested and taken to the Pinellas County Jail, charged with vehicular homicide and DUI manslaughter.
