Tampa, Florida -- You can't got into a restaurant or wait in a checkout line without seeing someone on their smartphone.
Bay area business owners looking to capitalize on that and the popularity of Facebook are getting some extra training how how to lure folks during the Republican National Convention. The convention's host committee put together a free training seminar in Tampa on Thursday.
The goal is to help small business showcase their services and aggressively promote their business online through social media during the world's second biggest media event.
Believe it or not, in connection with presidential conventions, this is a unique approach to promoting business.
A couple hundred people attended the seminar, and the host committee plans to do other seminars leading up to the convention.
