GULFPORT, Fla. -- A Gulfport Police Department chase of a stolen vehicle into St. Petersburg ended in a PSTA bus crash and damages to a building in Jordan Park.
According to St. Petersburg Police, Tiffany Grimes told officers she rented a Toyota Venza from Avis Car Rental earlier this week. She said she went to visit a friend and left the car parked in a driveway with the keys in the ignition and the doors unlocked while she went inside.
Police say she was in the home for approximately 10 minutes. When she returned, she found the car missing.
The suspect and a 2-year-old passenger in the stolen vehicle were taken to local hospitals after the crash. The child is listed in stable condition.
Officials continue to investigate the crash, and the crime behind the police pursuit.
