SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) - Sarasota County officials say Tropical Storm Debby is causing its four wastewater treatment plants to become overloaded.
Utility officials were asking residents Monday to limit their use of toilets, dishwashers, washing machines and other appliances that connect with the sewage system.
The Herald-Tribune reports that public safety officials were particularly concerned about flooding during high tide later Monday evening.
