Crystal River, Florida -- A home invasion turned into a shootout at a Crystal River home that left one injured and another dead late Wednesday night.

Citrus County deputies say just before midnight two armed men wearing masks kicked in the front door of the home in the 11000 block of Cedar Lake Drive and ordered the woman inside to the ground.

The woman's screams woke up her son who grabbed his gun and went to help. That's when police say shots broke out.

One of the suspects, later identified as 42-year-old Shawn Wright, died at the scene in the front yard. The other, who may be wounded, took off in an unknown vehicle. He was last seen wearing denim pants and a dark-colored shirt. He is considered armed and dangerous.

The 25-year-old son was taken to a local hospital by his mother. He has since been released, but officials continue to conceal his identity for safety reasons.

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office has issued a BOLO for the suspect's vehicle locally and to neighboring counties.

If anyone has any information about this crime or the identity of the second suspect, please call 911 or contact Crime Stoppers of Citrus County at 1-888-ANY-TIPS. You can text you tip plus CITRUS to 274637 (CRIMES) or click on www.crimestopperscitrus.com.

This has been the third violent home invasion this week with two taking place within 30 minutes of each other in St. Petersburg on June 19.
