Brooksville, Florida -- A Hernando County woman was arrested after witnesses saw her and her children abusing and killing kittens at a public park.
Deputies say 24-year-old Wilana Frazier was at Hill 'n Dale Community Park on Boxwood Avenue when she was seen hitting two kittens with a baseball bat. One of the kittens died and the other was severely injured.
Witnesses told investigators Frazier's two sons -- ages 5 and 8 -- not only witnessed the abuse, but also participated. The children reportedly threw one of the kittens against a tree and cut the other kitten's neck, then threw the animal in the trash.
Several children were able to save the second kitten, which was taken by animal services for treatment.
When questioned by deputies, Frazier denied hurting the small cats.
She was arrested on two counts of animal cruelty and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She was booked into the Hernando County Jail and is held on $14,000 bail.
