St. Petersburg, Florida -- Governor Rick Scott sat down with House Speaker John Boehner today, asking him to take up a bill that would delay massive flood insurance rate hikes.

The senate passed the legislation last week.

Governor Scott says, "For too long, Florida has been a donor state to the National Flood Insurance Program by contributing $16 billion dollars over the last three decades, which is nearly four times the amount Florida homeowners have received back in claims."

Governor Scott is still pushing for a meeting with President Barack Obama to talk about the flood insurance hikes.
