TALLAHASSEE, Florida (AP) - Gov. Rick Scott will be announcing whether or not the state's unemployment rate is still dropping.
Scott is scheduled to release the March unemployment figures during a stop in Naples on Friday.
Florida's unemployment dipped to its lowest level in more than four years in February to 7.7 percent. It's the lowest jobless rate in Florida since October 2008 when unemployment stood at 7.4 percent.
Scott has spent much of his time in recent weeks reminding Floridians that things have gotten better since he took office in January 2011. Scott ran on a promise to create 700,000 new jobs in Florida over a seven-year period.
Scott during his Naples visit also plans to renew his call for legislators to approve a tax cut for manufacturers he is seeking.
