TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Gov. Rick Scott has named four business people and a lawyer to the panel that oversees the State University System of Florida.
The appointees announced Thursday include Harry "Wayne" Huizenga Jr., son of the former Miami Dolphins owner, from Delray Beach. Huizenga is president of Huizenga Holdings Inc. and Rybovich Boat Co.
Three others are from Naples, Scott's hometown. They are hospital chain executive Alan Levine, retired IBM executive Ned Lautenbach and finance company partner Edward Morton.
Levine was former Gov. Jeb Bush's secretary of health care administration and later worked for Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal.
The final new member is Palm Beach Gardens lawyer Wendy Link.
They can begin serving immediately although their appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
