The Baltimore Orioles team plane, on their way to St. Pete for their final series against the Rays, made an unscheduled emergency landing overnight in Jacksonville.
According to reports the Delta operated charter flight had problems when smoke from a malfunctioning microwave filled the galley and part of the cabin en route to St. Pete Clearwater Airport.
After a brief inspection on the ground in Jacksonville, the plane was allowed to continue on
Some say it was a slightly scary situation, other players seemed unfazed.
According to a statement from the team, the plane landed in Jacksonville out of an "abundance of caution and at no time was anyone on the flight in danger."
The flight came just hours after the Oriels clinched a wildcard spot in the playoffs.
They wrap up their season with game one of a three game series against the Rays tonight at the Trop.
