TALLAHASSEE, Florida (AP) - A criminal case against a former top aide to Florida Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll now includes new allegations about improper relationships and widespread illegal taping.

The allegations were included in a court filing made by the attorney representing Carletha Cole. She was arrested last October on charges that she gave an illegally taped conversation with another Carroll aide to a newspaper reporter.

Cole's attorney made the allegations after prosecutors sought to keep confidential some information in the case.

In the filing, Cole contends that she witnessed the lieutenant governor and a top aide in a "compromising position" inside Carroll's office and that there was widespread taping going on.

Carroll, a former Navy officer who is married and a mother of three, called the allegations false and absurd.
