CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) - U.S. Coast Guard officials have unloaded a ton of cocaine worth about $26 million at a central Florida port.

Coast Guard officials tell Florida Today that the drugs came from a vessel intercepted June 23 about 90 miles south of the Dominican Republic.

Officials say the crew of the cutter Vigilant found the drugs on the deck of the 35-foot vessel it stopped off Punta Beata. Three people on the vessel have been detained.

The drugs were unloaded Monday at Station Port Canaveral.

Coast Guard officials say cutter crews have intercepted more than 75,000 pounds of cocaine since Oct. 1.
