A low pressure system over the Florida straights will gradually deepen and move WNW across the Gulf of Mexico. This means our weather will be warm and breezy today and tomorrow with a few showers.
Rain chances will run 20-30% with the highest chances south of Tampa. I do expect a few showers this afternoon in the Tampa area so you will want to keep that umbrellas handy just in case.
A Lake Wind Advisory is in effect for Pinellas, Hillsborough and Polk counties southward. Winds will pick up after lunch today blowing ENE 15-25 mph with higher gusts.
Today: Partly cloudy, warm and breezy with a 20% chance of showers. Winds ENE 15-25 mph with higher gusts and highs in the upper 80s to near 90 inland.
Tonight: Partly cloudy and mild. Showers taper off, but a very small chance exists for showers south of Sarasota. Winds will be ENE 10-15 mph with lows in the upper 60s to low 70s near the coast.
