(USA TODAY) -- Is Jack Nicholson retiring? Quitting acting forever?
RadarOnline has stirred up Twitter with a report that says that the actor, 76, has done just that.
There's no official announcement from Jack himself.
Radar points out that the three-time Academy Award winner has not worked since the 2010 movie, How Do You Know,
starring Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd and Owen Wilson. And the site
quotes an unnamed insider as saying he has quietly quit acting "without
On Twitter, the news is causing all sorts of reaction,
much of it expressing dismay that the legendary actor is exiting the
film world. The Birmingham News was quick to come up with his 10 Best Film Performances.
Radar notes that Nicholson may not act again, but he isn't retiring
from the "limelight," and we should expect to see him courtside at
Lakers games as usual.
ITV.com is already debunking the report as "100% false," according to an unnamed source.
Nicholson's rep has not yet responded to USA TODAY requests for comment.
