(USA TODAY) -- Chris Brown came ready to rock the Plaza for the Today show on Friday morning, but he sure wasn't ready to chat.

Matt Lauer and Tamron Hall joined the singer on the outdoor stage.

Hall said to Brown in asking about a recent health scare: "You had a seizure, but you're not missing a beat today. How are you feeling?"

"I'm good," replied the singer, 24. "Just needed some rest. That's it."

Lauer said that the last time Brown was in the Today studios (in April) he talked about "turning to the positive," but that some of the social media messages he's sent out recently "have been on the negative" side. Lauer was referring to a Twitter rant Brown went on after he was ordered to do more community service.

Mumbled Brown: "Uh, that's not my music."

Lauer said, "What? That's not the music. You're struggling with two different worlds?"

Speaker over Lauer, Brown said something about: "...fans."

Said Hall: "You're lovin' your fans?" She went on to say, "I've heard you're leaving the business... Is that rumor or fact?"

Said Brown: "It's about the music right now. I'll continue to work for my fans."

Seeming to be in a hurry to wrap the chat and get to his performance, she said, "What's in that heart now that's pushing the music?"

Brown replied, "Just my God-given talent. And my fans, you know...."
