Los Angeles, California -- The wife of one of the newest Tampa Bay Rays will be vying for a million dollars on the next edition of "The Amazing Race."
CBS has announced the identities of the 11 teams that will embark on a sprint around the globe for a million dollars. The new season of "The Amazing Race" premieres Sunday, Sept. 29 at 8:00pm on 10 News. Emmy Award winner Phil Keoghan (@philkeoghan) is the host.
In the new season, Kim DeJesus--wife of Rays outfielder David DeJesus--teams up with another baseball wife--Nicky Gertz, who's husband Chris currently plays for the Kansas City Royals.
"We're both really personable, we love people," said DeJjesus. "We love the aspect of going to a new culture and memeting new people and making friends. And I think building alliances is going to be a strategy that we choose to use."

This season, the show's 23rd, will bring back the Double Express Pass twist that was introduced last season in which the first team to check in at the first pit stop will earn two Express Passes--one to keep for themselves and one that must be given to another team.
As the teams travel through four continents and nine countries, spanning mreo than 35,000 miles, they will paraglide high above the skies of Chile, subject themselves to a bone-chilling plunge in Norway and buckle up for Formula One racing in Abu Dhabi.
This season's diverse cast includes former NFL teammates, married ER doctors, theater performers, childhood friends, cousins and more.
The Amazing Race has won the Emmy for "Outstanding Reality-Competition Program" nine times in the past 10 years. The series is nominated for it's 10th Emmy in this category.
