St. Petersburg, Florida -- The versatile and multi-talented Cedric "The Entertainer" returns to The Mahaffey stage and his roots in standup comedy for a special night of entertainment Friday, Nov. 8 at 8 p.m.

Tickets start at $49.50 and will go on sale Tuesday, Aug. 27 at noon.

Cedric "The Entertainer" is a comedian, actor, producer and director best known as one of the headlining stars of Spike Lee's hit film, The Original Kings of Comedy, as well as co-star of the WB's No. 1-rated sitcom, The Steve Harvey Show, and for his scene-stealing role as "Eddie" in the hit Barbershop films.

Cedric was recently named the new host of the iconic game show, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, replacing Meredith Viera in the 2013-2014 season - the show's 12th.

Although much of his energy in recent years has been devoted to television and film, Cedric insists that standup will always be an important part of his career.

"You are the conductor and (the audience is) the symphony," Cedric explains. "It's a symphony of laughter, if you will, and you're trying to make sure everybody is hitting some good notes and you're making this whole, full orchestrated sound of laughter."

Tickets for Cedric "The Entertainer" are $49.50, $59.50, $69.50 and $79.50 and may be purchased online at TheMahaffey.com, charge by phone at 727.893.7832 or in person at The Mahaffey Theater Box Office. Box Office hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday or at least 90 minutes prior to any ticketed event. There are no added charges ever on tickets purchased directly from The Mahaffey Theater.
