(USA TODAY) Jimmy Fallon and wife Nancy Juvonen Fallon, 46, welcomed baby Winnie Rose on July 23. She weighed in at 5 pounds 9 ounces.
And if you couldn't recall any bump alerts go out for the couple, you were right. Fallon tells Savannah Guthrie the baby was born via surrogate.
"My wife and I had been trying for a while to have a baby, says Fallon, 38, who married Juvonen in 2007. "We tried a bunch of things. So we had a surrogate."
He said, "This time we just said we're not going to tell anybody. It'd be just more fun, just private between me and wife."
He smiled, " When it happened we were shocked. ... Who are we going to tell? Who's going to be mad at us?"
He added, "It's so emotional."
Guthrie, whose interview with the new 2014 Tonight Show host will air on Today next week, says Fallon is "filled with joy."
