Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge after a state trooper said she wouldn't stay in the car while her husband was given a field sobriety test in Atlanta. Her husband, Hollywood agent Jim Toth, was arrested for DUI.

(USA TODAY) -- While many see Reese Witherspoon's arrest as a blow to her squeaky-clean image, Chelsea Handler is ho-hum about it.

Entertainment Tonight caught up with the E! late-night show host Monday night at the channel's annual upfront presentation to advertisers in New York and asked Handler about her pal.

"She's doing fine. She's doing fine, you know?" Handler said. "She's just trying to protect her husband, so ... I mean, everybody makes mistakes so it's not a big deal."

As for her respecting her own privacy, Handler wasn't shy.

"I'm not really a private person so it doesn't really matter," she put bluntly. "I'm not one of those girls who are like, 'I can't talk about that!' "

Reese, however, is. Although she stepped out Sunday for the premiere of her new movie, Mud, she didn't talk to reporters. And the New York Post reports she canceled appearances on Jimmy Fallon and Good Morning America this week.
