TAMPA BAY, Florida - Rick Scott has come out swinging against the only opponent standing between him and the governor's mansion.
In a new ad released Labor Day Weekend, Scott and the Republican Party of Florida attempt to link Alex Sink, the Democratic gubernatorial candidate, to some of President Obama's less-popular policies.
Watch it here:
"Rick Scott needs to be careful," said 10 News Political Analyst Bill Ratliff. "Don't mention your opponent's name too often. It's free advertising."
Ratliff said the negative advertising may work in the short-term, but sometime before the Nov. 2 election, Scott will have to address specifics of his job plan. He currently has them available on his website, but Ratliff says voters will be skeptical if he isn't more forthcoming with the details in his ad-buys and televised appearances.
The latest poll released shows the two candidates in a statistical dead-heat.
