The Florida Board of Governors has named it's final appointment to the new Board of Trustees of Florida Polytechnic University, Bill Brown.
Brown is the president and CEO of the Harris Corporation, a communications and technology company. He has a master's degree in business administration from the University of Pennsylvania and both master's and bachelor's degrees in mechanical engineering from Villanova University. He is currently on the Board of Directors for the Fire Department of New York Foundation.

Eight Florida Poly trustees have been meeting for several months as they begin to build the new university in Lakeland from the ground-up, but after Gov. Rick Scott named two more trustees Monday, Brown brings the board to 11 total members.
Brown's appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate. Poly's final two trustees will come from the future faculty and student body of the university.
