Tropical Storm Isaac causes Hardee, Highlands, Polk, Manatee, Sarasota, Pasco, Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties to close schools

Tampa, Florida-- Due to Tropical Storm Isaac, several Bay area county schools will close their doors Monday, Aug. 27.

Public schools in Hardee, Highlands, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough, Hernando, Polk and Sarasota counties are among those that will be closed. 

Private schools who have announced closures and cancellations for Monday include:

  • Academy Lakes in Pasco
  • Oldsmar Christian School
  • Sunstate Academy
  • Shorecrest Preparatory School of St. Pete
  • Esther's School in Pinellas and Pasco counties
  • Northside Christian School and Preschool
  • Marcia P Hoffman Performing Arts Institute at Ruth Eckerd Hall cancels Jazz Audition as well as private lessons scheduled after 3 p.m. Monday
  • Anona Child Development Center in Largo
  • Land of Learning Academy in Tampa
  • Berkeley Preparatory School in addition to all athletic events and on-campus meetings; campus closes to visitors Sunday at 4 p.m.
  • Victory Christian Academy School and Preschool
  • Christian Academy in Town 'N Country
  • Nazarene Daycare
