CBS News will present live coverage of President Obama's remarks tonight at the memorial service taking place at the University of Arizona in Tucson.  His remarks are expected to run approximately 15 minutes.

Coverage will begin at approximately 8:40 p.m. EST and will be anchored by Katie Couric from Washington, DC. Coverage will be sustaining, with no network commercials or local station breaks.

Here is the originally scheduled prime time programming lineup on CBS tonight:

  • 8:00 p.m. - Big Bang Theory (repeat)
  • 8:30 p.m. - Rules of Engagement (repeat)
  • 9:00 p.m. - Live to Dance (new)
  • 10:00 p.m. - The Defenders (new)

Rules of Engagement, which begins at 8:30, will be interrupted for the President's remarks. Should CBS News coverage end before 9 p.m., we will rejoin Rules of Engagement already in progress.

If CBS News coverage goes beyond 9:00, Live to Dance and The Defenders will begin immediately afterward, and both shows will air in their entirety.
