Holiday, FL - Investigators across three counties are searching for two armed robbery suspects after arresting a third suspect in the Holiday area.
Around 4 a.m. Friday morning the Pasco County Sheriff's Office received a call that the Hillsborough Sheriff's Office and Tampa Police Department were pursuing three suspects into Pasco County.
Tampa Police say the pursuit and search for these suspects began after two overnight robberies in the area of North 15th Street and East 15th Avenue.
The first robbery victim was walking through a nearby vacant lot when three suspects approached him; two were armed with guns and the third was armed with a baton. They demanded the victim's cell phone and money from his wallet. The three suspects took the items and ran.
A short time later, a second victim was walking through the vacant lot and saw silver Chevrolet Malibu following him. Two suspects got out and began running toward him. As the victim fled on foot, his cell phone dropped out of his waist band. The victim saw one of the suspects pick up his phone.
At 4:30 a.m. as a detective who had been investigating the robberies was heading home for the night, he spotted a silver Chevy Malibu speed by him on I-275 northbound. It matched the description of the suspect's vehicle.
The detective called for patrol officers to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle began to flee. The detective engaged in pursuit on Fowler Avenue and the pursuit continued into the county. Air service was able to follow the pursuit through Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties.
The three suspects fled their vehicle in the area of Summervale/Gulf Trace in Holiday, near Tarpon Springs. One suspect, 21-year-old Patrick Pugnon, was caught after he entered 23-year-old Charquisha Arline's home on Truman Drive.
Pasco deputies say Arline and Pugnon know each other.
Pugnon was arrested and charged with fleeing to elude, while Arline was arrested for aiding and abetting a suspect. Both were taken to the Land O'Lakes Detention Center.
Pugnon is expected to face more charges in Tampa.
The other two robbery suspects remain at large.
