Pinellas County, Florida-- A Tornado Warning was in effect for eastern Pinellas County Monday night until 8:45 after a waterspout was seen forming over the area.

Just after 8:20 p.m., the National Weather Service doppler radar indicated a tornado near Weedon Island State Preserve six-miles east of Pinellas Park, and it was said to be moving west at 15 mph.

If you're in the path of a tornado in the future, go to a small interior room in a strong, well-constructed building. Cars and mobile homes are not safe. If no shelter is available, lie flat in a ditch or culvert and cover your head with your hands.
