Seffner, FL -- More than 500 University of Tampa students are helping to make a difference through a day of service called Into the Streets.

About 40 of them painted the outside of one of the Human Development Center of Tampa's group homes.

"It's just nice to do things for other people and not really focus on yourself and just on people that need help. It's nice to help them," says UT freshman Alexandra Poirier.

"At the University of Tampa, we're very highly interested in education for the whole person and, so, the community service aspect is very important in a learning aspect, so that our students are enriched and can give back to the community," says Associate Dean of Students Gina Firth.

This is the 10th year for the day of service.
