Orlando, Florida -- If you've lived in Florida for any amount of time, you have a good idea of the things needed for your hurricane supply kit: a gallon of water per day for three to seven days for every person in your home, enough food for the same amount of time, medication and fresh batteries.

10 News picked up a few new ideas at this year's National Hurricane Conference in Orlando.

  • Aqua Blox: Boxed, emergency drinking water that has a shelf life of five years.  Can be purchased at the company's website or Sam's Club.
  • One Shop Deli Meal Kits: Emergency preparedness kits that are waterproof and have a 1.5 year shelf life.  Buy at OSD, Inc. website.
  • EZ Tarp: Clear, adhesive tarp to protect roofing after a storm hits.  Purchase at EZ Tarp website.
